MAD Dawg Mascot Name Contest: We need YOUR help!!!
We have new members of the MAD Pack! We are MAD Proud to introduce our new MAD Dawg mascots to the world! We will have a BOY mascot and a GIRL mascot, and they are looking for a name!
Please help us pick a name for our new members of the MAD Pack by replying with a few names we can throw in the hat! Our current MAD Dawgs will vote on the names on Wednesday, February 9th, and we will reveal the MAD Official Mascot Names on Valentine's Day, February 14th!

MAD Chicagoland: MAD Unified & Special Stars Inc NFP Join Forces to Introduce MAD Pups Junior Division​
In collaboration with one of our first MAD Special Guest Judges, Stephanie Clay, owner of Stephanie’s Academy of Dance; and inspired by Special Stars Inc NFP in the Chicago area, MAD Unified is MAD Thrilled to announce that we will introduce our newest division during MAD U7: The MAD Pups Junior Division – Ages 5-17!!

MAD Unified is excited to collaborate with Special Stars Inc NFP and Stephanie’s Academy of Dance during MAD U7 and beyond to offer scholarships to kids/teens of ALL abilities in the Chicagoland area and beyond. We are MAD Excited to collaborate with Special Stars Inc NFP and Stephanie’s Academy of Dance while we continue to grow our MAD Fam all over the country. We hope to offer connection and dance to even more MAD Dawgs/Pups (dancers) & MAD Agents (guardians, caretakers, etc) from the comfort and convenience of their own home.

MAD Special Guest Judge Makes History AGAIN!!! Wins Pride of Peoria Award - Rookie of the Year
​
MAD Unified would like to congratulate our fellow MAD Dawg, Mr. Scott Hollabaugh, for his MAD Awesomeness!
During MAD U6, Scott joined us as a MAD Special Guest Judge for a thrilling MAD Dawg Dance-Off. Scott single-handedly helped Sean set a record as our first Double-Qualifier in MAD Unified history! Now, just weeks later, he is making history again as he has shocked the world and received the Pride of Peoria Rookie Administrator of the Year Award! Scott's Mom happened to be in town the week he won to make it even better!

This is one of the highest honors in public education and it could not have gone to a more deserving individual. We are MAD Proud of you, Scott!

Stephanie Clay from Stephanie’s Academy of Dance in Chicago, IL!!!
Stephanie Clay is a super awesome gal! She owns Stephanie’s Academy of Dance in Illinois and has used dance to TAP (pun intended) into many cool opportunities, awards and life experiences. A passion of hers is sharing dance to individuals of ALL ABILITIES, which is why she donates her time teaching dance lessons at GiGi’s Playhouse (A Down Syndrome Awareness Center) and has created a Non-Profit called Special Stars Inc. Special Stars is a dance therapy program, created with her friend and occupational therapist, Jackie Olson. Stephanie’s amazing students have the opportunity to perform in front of big crowds and showcase their talents and courage. That’s MAD Awesome.

USA Paralympic Gold Medalist will bring her medal to judge the MAD Dawg Dance-Off Friday!

MAD Unified is proud to introduce this week's MAD Special Guest Judge...
Meet Allysa. Allysa grew up in Glendale, AZ, danced at Marilyn's Academy of Dance when she was young and went to Arizona State University. Go Sun Devils! Her 1st triathlon that she competed in was in September 2008, as part of a group that raises money for cancer research. She then joined the Arizona State University triathlon team and was nationally ranked prior to her diagnosis and amputation. In 2010, Allysa was diagnosed with Chiari II malformation, basilar invagination, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. In August, 2013, her left leg was amputated below the knee. 3 years later, she competed in the 2016 Summer Paralympics and won the gold medal in the Parathriathlon. MAD Perseverance. MAD Courage. Wow.

Brian Quinn is a super cool dude. He was instrumental in helping the Kellis Cougars build one of the best Unified Programs in the universe! Brian now works for Special Olympics International and is spreading Unified Culture to schools all over the world with the Unified Champion Schools Program. Brian introduced Wake to the wonderful world of Unified over 10 years ago and the rest is history. For that, Wake owes him front row seats to some amazing dancers. We hope you enjoy our MAD Dawgs' moves!

Professional Hip Hop Dancer to Join MAD Unified this Friday!!!

MAD Unified is proud to introduce this week's MAD Special Guest Judges...
Meet Erick. Erick started dancing at the age of sixteen. Self-taught in hip hop, he began taking dance classes at Burnet High School where he learned the principal elements of dance. From the moment he started, he fell in love with dance. Erick has also performed as a dancer in numerous music videos, shows, and traveled to work with multiple artists like Sean Paul, K Camp, Tory Lanez & D Woods. Erick is now an instructor at various studios throughout the Austin area and faculty member with Dupree Dance Convention. Erick is also founder of Diversified Unity! He continues to spread his love for dance with others.

Meet Thayne. Thayne is a triple-threat as an amazing actor, singer and dancer. Thayne is an Original Cast Member of Hamilton on Broadway, playing Samuel Seabury, as well as King George, at times. Thayne also graced the stage in Broadway shows such as Newsies, High School Musical, Matilda, West Side Story and Finding Neverland, just to name a few. He was also a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance - Season 4.

Owners of prestigious Dance Company join the MAD U Family!

Meet Kari and Zack. This husband/wife power couple are the owners of Dupree Dance. Dupree Dance was founded by Roland Dupree in 1978 as a result of his impressive and successful career in dancing, teaching and choreography.
​
After Roland's passing, Kari (who was a student of Roland as a child) and Zack took the reins and are doing amazing things with Dupree Dance, including traveling around the country and teaching dance to thousands of people with a team of MAD Insane dancers, Tapz included.
​
We are so excited that they have cut out some time in their busy schedules to join us inside the computer!

Meet Kristianne. Kristianne is a MAD Graceful Ballet Mistress and she loves dance almost as much as she loves her two children. Kristianne teaches Master Classes around the country in ballet, lyrical and modern. Kristianne has been a professional dancer since the age of 15. She earned the honor of dancing as Anastasia in the 1997 animated film, Anastasia.

We are so proud of you, MAD Dawgs!
Congratulations to all of the dancers and organizations who competed in Unidos in: Baile last night! We were so proud and humbled to share the stage and dance with you all!
Ladies and Gentlemen, we are so proud to announce that MAD Unified has OFFICIALLY won GOLD in our first dance competition. The MAD Dawgs danced their hearts out and represented with pride during the competition.
Thank you to ASU and SDSU HBSA (Hispanic Business Student Association) and HOLA (Hispanic Organization of Latin Awareness) for inviting us to your family and giving us a stage for our MAD Dawgs to shine. It was an honor to dance with you all.
